The September 1 Problem
Maryland edTPA Transition — September 1, 2026
Maryland is replacing the PPAT with edTPA as the required pedagogy assessment starting September 1, 2026. Teacher candidates who have not completed their assessment by August 31 will face a new, more complex requirement. PGCPS teacher candidates preparing now — on PLT, PPAT, and Core exams — need every available resource to meet this window.

Built by a Teacher Who Had to Pass It Himself
Carlton A. James is a CTE Instructor at Largo High School and a 20-year U.S. Navy veteran. He built PraxisPass because he is personally preparing for the PLT Grades 7-12 (5624), Praxis Core Reading (5713), and Praxis Core Writing (5723) — the same exams his colleagues and students are preparing for.
PraxisPass was built for PGCPS first. Every question, every Maryland-specific rule, every edTPA transition alert reflects the actual certification requirements of this district.
