Privacy Policy

1. Identity and Contact Information

PraxisPass is operated by 25 Alpha LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. For privacy-related inquiries, contact: privacy@praxispass.app. This policy governs data collected through praxispass.app and all associated services.

2. Data We Collect

Account Data

Name, email address, and role (teacher, department head, administrator). Authentication is handled by Clerk — PraxisPass never stores passwords.

Study Activity Data

Questions answered, correctness, session timestamps, domain performance, constructed response text and rubric scores, mock exam results, and ERS score history.

Certification Data

Certification area selection, exam stack, gate dates, and onboarding responses. Uploaded ETS score reports (PDF) for the Retaker Recovery Protocol — processed and not permanently stored.

Usage Analytics

Session events tracked via PostHog for platform improvement. No personally identifiable information is shared with PostHog beyond a pseudonymous user ID.

3. FERPA Compliance

PraxisPass is designed with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) compliance as a primary architectural requirement.

—Individual ERS scores, session data, and question results are never visible to other users, peers, or department members.
—Department Head accounts (DEPT_HEAD role) access aggregate cohort data only: average ERS per exam, total session count, and active member count. No individual data is returned.
—FERPA enforcement occurs at the database query layer — aggregate-only enforcement cannot be bypassed through UI modification.
—Users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data by contacting privacy@praxispass.app.

4. Data Use

We use your data to: calculate your Exam Readiness Score, personalize study missions to your weakest domains, score constructed responses, generate recovery plans, send study reminders (if opted in), and improve platform features via aggregate analytics. We do not sell your data. We do not share your individual data with employers, schools, or third parties without your explicit consent.

5. Data Retention

Account and study data is retained for the duration of your account and 2 years after account deletion. ETS score report PDFs uploaded via the Retaker protocol are processed and then deleted — not stored permanently. You may request full data deletion at any time by emailing privacy@praxispass.app.

6. Third-Party Services

Clerk: Authentication — handles sign-in, sign-up, and session management. See clerk.com/privacy.

Anthropic: AI model inference for mission briefings, OODA lessons, CR scoring, and Float responses. API calls are server-side only. Content submitted to AI features is processed per Anthropic's API terms of service.

Stripe: Payment processing. PraxisPass does not store credit card numbers. See stripe.com/privacy.

Neon: PostgreSQL database hosting. See neon.tech/privacy.

Resend: Transactional email delivery for notifications and alerts.

PostHog: Product analytics. No PII beyond pseudonymous ID.

7. Cookies and Tracking

PraxisPass uses essential cookies for authentication (Clerk session tokens) and functional state. Analytics cookies (PostHog) are used for product improvement. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, export your study data in JSON format, and opt out of non-essential communications. Contact privacy@praxispass.app to exercise any of these rights.

9. Children

PraxisPass is designed for adult teacher certification candidates (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from users under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact privacy@praxispass.app immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

Material changes to this privacy policy will be announced via email and displayed as a banner on the platform. Continued use after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance. The current version is always available at praxispass.app/privacy.
