How to Register for a Praxis Exam in Maryland

  1. Create an ETS account

    Go to praxis.ets.org and create an account. Use your legal name exactly as it appears on your government-issued ID.

  2. Select your exam

    Choose the exam by code number (e.g., 5624 for PLT Grades 7-12). Confirm the format, time, and fee before proceeding.

  3. Add MSDE as a score recipient

    Add Maryland State Department of Education with Score Recipient Code 7403. This is required for certification — do not skip.

  4. Choose your test date and location

    Select a Prometric testing center near you or remote proctoring if available. Book at least 3-4 weeks out to allow adequate preparation time.

  5. Complete payment

    Exam fees range from $90 to $200 depending on the exam. Fee waivers may be available for qualifying candidates.
